Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) Release Party in Manila

As Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) final release was available to download to public last April 26, 2012. And as tradition,  Ubuntu Team Philippines joined the world wide release party. Ubuntu-PH Precise Pangolin Release Party was held at 8 Layer TechnologiesOffice in Pasig City last April 27, 2012. (That was a day after the Precise Pangolin available to download.)

The party started around 7:30 PM, each of us had the chance to introduce ourselves. I believed, we’re more than 20 people in the room.  Efren D. Montales Jr. (the new Ubuntu member), congrats to Efren. He shares his knowledge by presenting Ubuntu overview.  After Efren, a representative from 8 Layer (I forgot his name) presented how to install Ubuntu.  He used the Virtual software to install the Ubuntu.  I also shared how make a bootable USB installer. Then socialise and share our Ubuntu experiences. Zak Elep (Ubuntu Philippines LoCo contact) did not make it to join the party due to some matters. Hey Zak you owe us.

Thanks to Meric Mara, Lawrz Libo-on, Ms. Deng Silorio and 8 Layer Technologies, Inc. family for providing the venue and food plus strong beers. Thanks also to Bob Reyes and Mozilla Philippines for the swags. And most special thanks to all the attendees to make this release party happen.

Here are some photos during the release party.(Thanks to my colleague Chris Cubilla for the photos )
